Spring Means Ataulfo Honey Mangos!
Переглядів 13 тис.3 роки тому
How do you say it? Well, that’s the thing. Ataulfo as a varietal name is hard for many American consumers to say. One grower has branded theirs as “Champagne Mangos”. Now, the the Mango Board which supports the marketing and consumption of all Mangos, has started an initiative to rename “Ataulfo Mangos” to the easier remembered and pronounced “Honey Mango.” Ataulfo Mangos - producegeek.com/atau...

Best Grapefruit of the Year; Juicy, tangy-sweet Minneola Tangelos
Just bought this on a whim at Trader Joe's cause it had "sugar" in the name. It surely lives up to its name!
Thank you!
Jackson's page on the internet is also a great source of information- and there are a lot more listed, though it's unlikely you will ever find more then a few pretty much anywhere. This is a great video- thanks. You should also do a video preparing like the 5 most popular and see how they fair boiling vs baking vs frying, etc... Anywho, thanks dude.
Excellent video!
I'm an American living in Mexico. Some friends gave me some of these yesterday. Before coming to Mexico I never saw these. I came here to see how to cut and eat them. Glad I did. Yum.
great video m I was so hoping you has a okanawan hawaiian purple in that mix. they are supposed to be superior to all the others.
Came here for a reminder of how huge Athena cantaloupe can get!
I agree with the person from Florida. I will give them another shot. Those mangoes taste horrible. I never had a good one. I avoid products made with them. Maybe for people who lack experience in mangoes, they are good. I find them slightly bitter or bitter. Not sweet. Unfortunately, mangoes from Mexico are often picked too early. They don't give fruits a chance to develop to their natural sweetness. There are so many other mangoes that I would recommend before this one. I am not a plant specialist, but I specialize in food ...lol especially things I love like mangoes.
Please pronounce it properly... It is Ah-ta-ool-fo
Thanks so much for the great review. Since they’re on sale I will probably go ahead and try the Sugarbee.!
When the Okinawan diet consisted of up to 80% purple sweet potatoes, they were one of the longest lived people on earth!
I growing an Okinawa sweet potato. It was hard to find.

I just ate an heirloom navel, orange and it was great. When I get the chance, those are the ones I will buy from now on.
I bought a box of 6 for 5.99 at an Asian market.
I like big buds.
Great video and very informative. Thank you!
Caramelised is pronounced with the second A It’s not carmelised. Love the instructional content however!
Opal apples are my favourite.. Sadly, Opal apples are not always in session....
great... i still want to know the microwaveability.
Opal apples are my favourite... Sadly, Opal apples are not always in session... Anybody ever hear of Red Price apples? They are good
Since I live in Florida, and am a serious mango lover and grower of some of the best in the World, I can attest that this mango Ataulfo, will not even crack into the top 50 mangoes there are in a taste test. You need to try a Dot, Orange Sherbet, Lemon Zest, or a host of others, to know what I mean. Gary Zill who developed most of the best out there, lives on the East coast of Fl and I have sat down with him and talked about his mango types while sampling fruit at his farm there. You would be blown away with these fruits if you come down in prime mango season and tried a handful or more of them. You cannot buy them in the store, but you could order some online if you look for the groves that sell them.
You did a good job explaining the characteristics of the melon. I grow lots of melons here in Florida, and stumbled onto your site. I found you while looking for info on Athena, for I wanted to add it to my trials against Amish and Ambrosia melons. Have not seen Sugar Kiss seeds for sale so I am sure they are protecting this against being sold plus it sounds like it could be a trade name of an existent melon. Will be doing some research now to find out more. If you happen to know, please let me know?

Japanese sweet is the best, yum roasted
Thanks for doing this!
I was always wondering what the actual difference is. I’ve noticed that here in Northern Europe, they come to the supermarkets at different seasons, so fall starts for us in October with satsumas, but by November it’s hard to get your hands on them. You’ll find clementines instead and their quality will steadily decline over the winter months but they’ll usually be available until February. I prefer satsumas, to be honest, and I was truly surprised that their season doesn’t end with November. Why is that? Are clementines more widely produced?
Just had the Japanese Sweet Potato. Definitely on the much drier/dense side. Even when I steam them in coins, they are extremely dry. Still delicious but not as creamy as the Jewel or Covington. The Stokes I eat strictly for the antioxidants, but that one is also a very dense, hard, and dry sweet potato. Not as dry as the Japanese Oriental, but still very hard. I need to cut very thin coins in order to achieve a softness. Thank you again for this AMAZING video!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Love to make purple sweet potato pie! 🥧
They are the bedt
those sugar kiss are the best!!
04:16 I thought they didnt ripen after being picked? They get softer but not sweeter?
Sweet potatoes as a dessert . . . . . . , maybe . . . . . .
UBE/Purple Yam has been a staple in Asian (especially in Filipino) cuisine for centuries! So happy to see it make it to western cuisine! Enjoy! 😊
This was the BEST breakdown of Sweet Potatoes! Even better than some Top Professional Chefs!!! Thank you so much for your detail and dedication!!! Great video!
Stokes is so good. My favorite.
The best!!! Every time I go to Sam’s Club I make sure whoever is around me knows about this delicious Kiss melons. I purchased 6 today! I’m hooked. Last week I was sad , because they ran out of it, but today I make sure I got them and advertised them too🤗
I tried this style of Cantaloupe last year and gor hooked. Worth buying if you find them.
Which one is least sweet? I dont like sweet potatoes. They are okay, but regular potatoes are just so much better. Looking for the least sweet variety there is.
I have a mango tree and I think it's a honey mango but I don't know if I can eat them.... They're super big and green with a little bit of yellow color
The sugar kiss is no joke. I figure many people will think wow, that is too sweet. It is, but you can't look past its other qualities. It is incredibly tender. It just melts in your mouth. He didn't bring that point across. I believe they come in netting because they are hung while on the vine. I got the one I had from Walmart so I came looking to get an idea of their peak season. I am not sure I can trust Walmart to have it again.
As I work in produce business I am going to check the warehouse . There is an oriental and Japanese variety ! Going to check difference . What is pecu!jar is that they all originated from the Americas or did they ? Really divergent research results !
great video
Your videos are so informative!
Thank you for sharing. I just subscribed.
Request compare taste flavor, texture, etc cotton candy vs candy hearts grapes.😬
Which is less sweet
I would have appreciated it if he had shown how to cut the rest of the Mango.
Sitting with half a mango here lol no lie
Wish you would show the bottoms of each apple... I am trying to identify a very old apple tree. My husband transplanted a tree from his parents property to ours in 1988. They lived close to the Sumas border in British Columbia. 🙂
Which variety of sweet potato or yam would you say has the shortest to harvest growth and the most prolific?
They remind me of flavor of Mott's fruit snacks. They taste just like candy
